So I realize this could be a little intimidating. If you feel like you could never do this, I went from this (shutumon) to this in two years. It may take time but you can totally do it. The concepts aren't such a far cry from basic stuff, its just a matter of rolling it all into one. But in the mean time, have fun; you're not being timed.
Find yourself some good tutorials.
These are ones I like:
[KATMOMMA's Color Wheel] really basic stuff.
[KATMOMMA's Tomato-Apple] this one taught me to pay more attention to warm vs cool.
[MY LIGHT SUMMARY] this one's mine cause I couldn't find any tutorials that focused on light itself. (I've pulled a few images from here)
And most importantly run your own race and try your hardest. Do your own thing, don't compare your abilities to other people. No matter how good you are, there will always be someone better than you and someone you wish you could draw like. It'll drive you crazy if you constantly compare you work to other people.

I don't use alot of color in my artwork. Recently I have invested in alot of different brands of colored pencils. (both for dry and wet use) I don't have a clue as to how to use them, other that just using the colors right from the pencil, and the colorless blender. I am glad that I found your tutorials. Thank you for sharing them with use!
